Our Summer Program:
Math Gamers "Active"©
In Gladstone, at John Wetten Elementary, we offer 1 week of classes! We play a different game each day and work on one or more math crafts! Come join us!
Have you ever thought of how a game of hopscotch could help your kids with place value? Or, how kids could get reinforcement in adding or multiplying multi-digit numbers with a bean bag toss game? If you have a student entering grades 1-5, join us at our summer session of Math Gamers, called Math Gamers “Active,” and you'll see how it works!
A special set of "active" games, in which kids keep moving, have been designed for the summer session. So, they're moving and learning math all at the same time!
Each day, students learn a new game. Throughout the week, students will also be working on a “math” art project. This is a craft or art activity that uses some type of math concept, such as geometry, symmetry, patterns, sequencing. The goal is to show students how math is everywhere! And, they have a product to take home at the end of the week!
Maximum number of students per session is 12, so participants get one-on-one guidance, supervision, and help with the math concepts/skills addressed.
All materials provided.
